November 7 @ 11:00 - 13:00 Discover some of the Islington locations that the artist Geoffrey Fletcher captured so lovingly in the 1960s and 1970s and learn about the area’s long and rich heritage. “Excellent walk – really interesting and a really great guide.” Best known for his 1962 book ‘The London That Nobody Knows’, Geoffrey Fletcher’s sketches, paintings, books and weekly column in the Telegraph recorded the London he feared was vanishing in the decades after World War II. He was especially fond of Islington, with its markets, Georgian terraces and varied Victorian architecture.
