17th November 2026, 15:30 - 17:00 Sir David Beamish - Nancy Astor In 1919 Nancy Astor became the first woman to take her seat in the House of Commons when she was elected as a Plymouth MP. She had not been a campaigner for women's suffrage, was American-born, and was the wife of a Viscount.
