At a time when trust in institutions is increasingly fragile, the book’s author, Alice Sullivan argues that if we are to avoid a post-truth culture, we must reject tribalism and groupthink, welcome critical voices, and reclaim the virtue of tolerance. Alice’s new book, Sex, Lies and Statistics, investigates the removal of sex from data, social policy and public discourse. The book makes a case for evidence-based policymaking and honest public discussion. Alice will be joined by an expert panel to discuss the book. The panel discussion will then be followed by audience Q&A and refreshments.
