Thursday 26 November 2026, 1.00pm-2.30pm Presenter: Dr Alice Levins Chair: Dr Johann Koehler (Department of Social Policy, LSE) Abstract: The walls of the prison create a barrier that is replicated in the literature on the effects and after-effects of imprisonment. A great deal of research has charted either the pains and deprivations that are experienced by people in prison, or explored matters of desistance, resettlement and reintegration after release, generally focussing on the importance of housing, employment and shifts in self-narratives of the formerly incarcerated.
